The pacing is better, the humor is better and the characters actually emote.

Its not really clear why this arc is called Nightmare because things seem pretty pleasant so far lol.

I guess well just have to wait and see -Ive known Hakuren for 2 seconds and I already feel like he has WAY more of a personality than Mikage.

Mikage barely even got a backstory but I already completely understand Hakurens motivationsgoals.

I like how Teito and Hakurens studylearning styles contrast each other due to their differing upbringings and latent talent.

The Frau dummies crack me up.

They really remind me of the Pearl dummy in SU -More concepts introduced in this volume: wars and warsfeil.

Im a little confused what the difference is between a person possessed by a kor and a person possessed by a wars.

Are they just stronger -So the big dude that carries around Kuroyuri is name Haruse.

He fades into the background so much that I had to do a Google image search to get a better idea of what he looks like -Is it just me, or is this the first time theyre mentioning that Castors ghost name is Fest Anyway, I really like that name.

I wonder where the mangaka got the idea for these names (Zehel, Fest, etc.) -This volume was mostly dedicated to more HakurenTeito bonding and Fraus backstory.

Overall it felt a little less dark then the beginning of the series with the introduction to kor and Mikages death.

Im glad the character development is getting stronger as we go.

The path to the dungeon Frau is kept in (under the fountain) is featured in the ED for the anime.

Anime-only folks sure miss out on stuff:P -Ive literally read and watched this twice and this was still me when they revealed Bastien and Ver Kreuz were bad guys: (my memory sucks lol).

I always appreciate when manga follow the every character gets their own cover formula.

Not sure what the deal is with the bubbles but okay Katsuragis kind of a boring character, but I appreciate that hes a foodie.

Ive already seen the anime before and read up to volume 10 of the manga.

Im starting from the very beginning though so I can give my thoughts and refresh my brain on the plot.

My overall impression of this series, from what I can remember, is that its a decent fantasy that lays on the queer baiting and shota stuff pretty thick.

Its actually kind of similar to Black Butler but with a more expansive worldlore.

Its a little dated at this point, but it came out right around my weeb phase so Im nostalgic for its slightly cringey elements.

Reading manga is great for practice, but when Im completionist-mode-ing a series I really dont want to miss anything so its best to consume it in my native language.

I just moved into the city and the libraries here have a WAY better manga selection.

I was able to pick up volumes 8-10 so lets do this Keep reading.
